The main contractor, Pexhurst, has been appointed by Prudential Assurance to the large structural adaption of a 4000m2 industrial unit in Tonbridge, with a project value of £2.8 million. The contract administrator, Ridge Partnership will assist the project which is expected to take a total of 26 weeks to complete.
The industrial unit was previously occupied by Homebase who vacated the space in June 2015. The retail unit had only been partially used since that point.
The structural adaption and CAT A refurbishment will include work on the demolition, adaption, and remodelling of the retail unit to make way for a new Aldi supermarket and a B&M clothes store.
Extensive external works are planned, including the resurfacing of the car park to rejuvenate the tired appearance of the existing unit and comprehensive improvements to the drainage and ductwork systems which will add to the practicality and performance of both new stores.
