On the first floor of the Legal & General headquarters building in Coleman Street, London, Pexhurst carried out a complex and innovative Category B refit, while the rest of the building remained in occupation.
We converted the former open-plan space into well-designed cellular accommodation and peripheral break-out areas. The refit involved reconfiguring the ceiling, upgrading the services and the fan-coil heating and installing new data cabling and lighting.
In view of the particular requirements of this Financial Services regulated office environment, deliveries had to be booked with security a week in advance and our work plan also had to accommodate shareholder announcements taking place in the building.
These considerations meant that detailed advance planning was of paramount importance if the project was to meet its tight 10‑week schedule.
The Pexhurst team was therefore delighted to have achieved all the client’s project objectives for this high-profile building.
