Pexhurst is proud to announce that Contracts Manager Ashley Williams has been shortlisted for the prestigious Rising Star Award at the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) awards 2024. It’s the second time he has been shortlisted for such an award, having been a finalist for the Rising Star Award at the London Construction Awards in September 2023.
The award celebrates the best new talent in the UK, considering individuals that have been in the construction industry for five years or less, and have demonstrated excellence in their work, the industry and among their peers.
Although Ashley has only been working at Pexhurst for just over three years, his career progression has been remarkable. Having joined as an Assistant Site Manager in September 2020, as part of Pexhurst’s comprehensive programme to encourage more youth into the construction industry, it took him less than 18 months to take the step up to Assistant Site Project Manager.
This was quickly followed by a further promotion, this time to Site Manager, in July 2022. The role saw him have complete ownership and responsibility of sites, either with an assistant or on his own.
In March 2023, Ashley then saw his career take another step forward with a promotion to Contracts Manager, a role he holds to this day. Demonstrating incredible professionalism, work ethic and dedication, Ashley’s willingness to gain construction industry knowledge and develop new skills and techniques has seen him quickly grow within the business.
Martin Vella, Managing Director at Pexhurst, said the company was extremely proud of Ashley and how far he’d come in such a short time. Martin said: “Since joining us, he has shown a desire to learn and take on new challenges, which is reflected in how quickly he has progressed in his career.

Taking place on 9th April 2024 and held at the Hilton London Metropole, the CIOB awards is always an eagerly awaited and respected construction industry event. This black-tie occasion, filled with entertainment, a drinks reception and a three-course dinner, is not to be missed if you’re in the construction industry.
