The building is located on the south side of Castle Lane between Palace Street and Buckingham Gate close to Victoria underground Station. Pexhurst was tasked with a CAT A refurbishment of two sub-basement office suites with a combined floor space of 2,620 sq ft.
Works to this project contained stripping out of existing office equipment and the installation of new raised access floor system. All new M&E installations and decorating were carried out, including new herringbone vinyl which was laid throughout the office giving a stylish and modern appearance. Glazed partitioning was also installed to create private offices.
In the courtyard a new pedestal patio system was installed to replace existing decking, with windows and doors freshly painted giving the tired courtyard a fresh look and feel. The court yard will provide outdoor amenity space for staff.
This project required the installation of a bespoke pumping chamber unit. This was to prevent sewer backflow with a new interceptor trap and associated drainage.
Liaison with Westminster Council was required in order for our Hiab crane to lift and place two condensers that weighed half a ton, four storeys high on to the roof ready for connection. Despite the initial logistical challenge of closing the one-way road, the task was completed with no complaints.
