ChillBox is one of the South-East's largest and coolest logistics buildings with a floor space of approximately 196,178 sq ft across 5 chiller chambers that are individually controlled.
Work comprised of a CAT A fit-out to the internal main office’s, with works to the ground and first floors forming a new open plan office environment. The office space was decorated throughout, as well as the installation of new flooring, suspended ceilings with new led modular lighting. In the chambers themselves, we undertook decorations, deep cleaned the chamber wall panelling and applied a new resin floor coating throughout.
A new mansafe system has been installed throughout the extensive roof void between the main roof and the top of the chambers to future proof all servicing requirements for equipment within the roof void. All existing shutter doors and dock levellers were either repaired or replaced. The entire external face of the cladding and curtain walling has been sprayed, together with a newly coated roof. The team also tested, validated and commissioned various aspects of the mechanical and electrical installations, with particular focus on the sprinkler system, fire alarms and the chillers.
Pexhurst continued to progress the refurbishment keeping this site open throughout the pandemic, adapting the site in line with CLC guidelines and public health England to ensure that we provided a safe working environment. With a working environment of 196,178 sq ft, social distancing wasn’t a problem! During the closing stages of our refurbishment, the Landlord successfully let the building which is testament to the hard work of the entire project team.
