To mark this impressive milestone, we caught up with Stuart to hear more about his time with us!
1. Do you remember your first day at Pexhurst, and if so can you describe it?
I do… I was on site at Maddox Street in London for our client at the time, Northern Rock. It was a lovely June morning and I was met by a Contracts Manager who handed me a folder, said the demo boys have started, and introduced me to the Site Manager. Things have changed a lot regarding on-boarding new starters since I joined!
2. What is your favourite thing about coming into work every day?
Two things: people and variety. We have a great team of colleagues and supply chain partners and it is genuinely enjoyable coming to work every day. That, and the fact that the scenery is always changing as projects start and finish. I do feel really lucky to be part of such a great team, and in fifteen years I have never once had the Monday blues!
3. What has been your proudest work achievement?
It’s not one thing in particular but rather lots of little things. Things such as rolling out new platforms for our teams to use, on-boarding new colleagues, and being involved in some of Pexhurst’s biggest projects.
4. What is your fondest work memory?
Shortly after I joined Pexhurst in 2006, John Vella our founder and Managing Director at the time introduced himself and we spoke for about five minutes about my wife Clare and I just having our first son Will. A couple of days later John walked through the office and made a point of stopping and talking to me about Will, and how Clare and I were getting on. I was really impressed that someone I had only met once and who seemed so busy, remembered so much detail. This made me feel part of the team right from the start of my time here.
5. What are you looking forward to next?
Continuing to be involved with Pexhurst and helping to shape the business moving into the future. If I can welcome one new colleague the way I was welcomed here, I feel like I have achieved something.
