We are delighted to announce that Senior Contracts and Commercial Manager Rob Brazier, has been announced as a finalist in the Construction Manager of the Year category of the 2022 Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Awards. In addition to this outstanding achievement, Rob will now receive his CIOB Chartered Membership.
Following our demonstration of an exceptional standard of work on a refurbishment project working alongside Vail Williams as the Contract Administration and project managers for client CBRE IM, Pexhurst have been made a finalist of this year’s Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Awards. Of all the CIOB Awards, the Construction Manager of the Year Award (CMYA) is considered the most prestigious with a rigorous judging process to ensure a high calibre of winners. Since its launch in 1978, the CMYA award has given publicity to the most talented Construction Managers across the UK.
Rob Brazier has been recognised as an impressive project manager for his work on the sustainable refurbishment of a 45,934 sq. ft. warehouse, office space and external hardstanding area in Woolborough Lane, Crawley, where one of the primary aims was to raise the clear height of the warehouse by 2.5m. Rob oversaw the project for CBRE IM, with one of the objectives being to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating, through the sustainable reuse of the building’s original structure, and sourcing of sustainable materials.
As the Senior Contracts and Commercial Manager, Rob was responsible for both the production and the financial aspects of this substantial project. He also led the design coordination between trade packages, which in this instance involved steelwork, roofing, cladding, mechanical and electrical installation. Carrying out an extensive build programme during the Covid-19 pandemic, while attempting to achieve a high BREEAM rating is a testament to Rob’s high level of industry knowledge and competence.
Rob commented on the achievement: “Being named a finalist of the CYMA is a truly amazing achievement; I’m proud just to be considered for such a prominent industry award. I’m also honoured to now be able to receive my CIOB Chartered Membership, which is the next milestone in creating future buildings that create positive impacts.”
Rob continued: “I would also like to recognise the hard work of the wider team including Project Director, Martin Vella, and the delivery team, without whom this programme would not have been a success.”
This is the second year running Pexhurst are CMYA Finalists, we will be attending the 2022 CIOB Awards Night on Wednesday 28th September 2022 at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London. This fantastic evening will celebrate the excellence of the finalists, as the winning gold and silver awards are announced…
