For children spending time in hospital, having something to look forward to can make all the difference and distract them from the otherwise unnerving environment of a ward. This is even more essential during periods of the year, like Easter, when they’d normally be celebrating and spending time with their families.
To help bring some joy to the hearts of the children at local Lister Hospital in Stevenage this Easter, the East & North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity is holding an Easter Grotto – and Pexhurst was proud to get involved.
In the build-up to the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, the charity welcomed donations of Easter Eggs from the local community. These will be distributed to the patients on the children’s ward, in A&E, in treatment centres, and in the local area. Any children visiting relatives in the hospital and in clinics will also be able to receive eggs, so no child misses out on the delicious treats!
Kayla Vella, Senior Client Relationship and Marketing Manager, recently dropped off some mouth-watering Easter Eggs to the Children’s Ward at Lister Hospital and spoke to some of the nursing staff who commented on just how grateful they were for the donations that always bring such a smile to the children’s faces.
She said: “I’m so impressed by the number of Easter Eggs everyone at Pexhurst kindly donated, and I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who got involved in this amazing initiative. It was great to catch up with the team at Lister Hospital who were so appreciative, and it was wonderful to see so many eggs had already been donated!
“Hopefully the Easter Grotto will help to bring some joy to the children at Lister Hospital over this Easter weekend.”
Although the window to donate Easter Eggs has now closed, you can still donate funds to the charity by visiting: https://www.enhhcharity.org.uk/supportus.
