Having set the financial year of 2023 as our baseline year of scope 1 & 2 emissions, Pexhurst has been able to plan for, set and announce an ambitious absolute Net Zero Target for these emissions by 2030. A robust carbon reduction plan has been finalised which outlines exactly how Pexhurst plans to achieve this target, addressing each component of our footprint, our solutions to decarbonise and a roadmap for when such changes should occur. To measure our progress towards this target, we have set an interim reduction target of 40% by 2027.
We are currently in the process of submitting our 2030 target to the Science Based Targets initiative for validation. This is an external verification process of near-term targets to ensure they are in line with what the latest climate science deems necessary to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, as outlined by the Paris Agreement 2015.
We also understand the significance and size of our Scope 3 emissions. Therefore, we are currently undergoing a screening process with the aim of generating a complete dataset of our material categories, which will allow us to begin developing a reduction plan for these emissions.
