Pexhurst’s Golf Day Raises £3,000 for LandAid!

At the beginning of September, Pexhurst hosted a charity golf day and silent auction, raising an impressive £3,000 in support of property industry charity, LandAid! The charity strives to end youth homelessness in the UK by working to improve the lives of young people who experience disadvantage due to their economic or social circumstances.

A total of 45 golfers, including a combination of Pexhurst employees as well as a number of our clients and professional contacts from companies such as JLL and Cushman and Wakefield, took to the greens on a glorious day at Centurion Club in St Albans.

The day began with golfers arriving 40 minutes before their allocated tee times to enjoy a breakfast roll on the terrace. The four-balls then proceeded to tee off at the championship course that hosted the Golf Sixes in 2017 and 2018 and was planned to host the LPGA this summer before being cancelled due to COVID-19.

The day culminated in a socially distanced BBQ and an event in which prizes for the ‘longest drive’ and ‘nearest to the pin’ were awarded to Jamie Pilborough from Storey and Anthony Hynes from Chancery Gate. Funds for LandAid were raised through an online silent auction, where participants could bid on a number of unique items including a framed boxing glove signed by the two-time heavyweight world champion, Tyson Fury.

Director Nick Tagliarini said: “Despite COVID-19 restrictions, the event was a huge success and everyone was just happy to be able to get out and about again. LandAid like many other charities has experienced huge shortfalls in fundraising so we decided to take action and help. I would also like to thank our half-way house sponsor HD Sharman, as well as all the teams and individuals who supported the day or donated items to help us raise money for this important cause.”

Roll on next year…!
