Pexhurst is celebrating a long-standing partnership with Turnford Geese FC, after sponsoring the local football team for the seventh year running.
The company’s sponsorship means the team now have a new kit and can offer a reduced joining fee, encouraging local people in the community to join and play football. During the last seven years, the team have also been promoted from division six to division one, winning one league and two cups!
Co-founder Chris Wicks says:
“Pexhurst’s support has been brilliant, without it we probably wouldn’t have been able to continue playing all this time. We particularly appreciate it when we know many businesses don’t currently have the funds to sponsor amateur football teams.”
Turnford Geese FC was founded by six best friends who all attended Turnford School. After playing together at Chesthunt FC they wanted to create a team that involved fun, family and friends and therefore Turnford Geese was created. The strange name originates from the friends’ school days, as the football pitch was covered in geese!
“The formation of the team has resulted in many friendships being formed. It’s not so much a football team but more of a community and we couldn’t have done it without Pexhurst,” Chris explains.
“We hope we can continue our partnership for year’s to come.”
