At Pexhurst, we’re committed to supporting good causes and bringing about positive change in the communities in which we live and work.
There is no doubt this year has brought tough times to many, which is why we’re proud to have collaborated with several charities through a variety of initiatives. Here is a round up of the events and organisations we have been involved in this year, all helping to raise a whopping £13,380.00!
Mates In Mind
Pexhurst hosted a client charity golf day and silent auction in July that attracted 60 people at the Centurion Club in St Albans, raising an impressive £3,500 in support of workplace mental health charity Mates in Mind.
And following on from the success of the first ‘Gift Pax from Pexhurst’, the marketing team launched another food related campaign which saw clients able to claim a free Madras, Bhuna or Jalfrezi curry kit in return for a photo. For each photo sent in, we donated £5 to the charity.
A representative from Mates in Mind said: “At a time when the Office of National Statistics is reporting the lowest levels of personal wellbeing scores for life satisfaction and anxiety levels, we continue to ask a huge amount from our people in the workplace. Now more than ever it’s vital that employers recognise the importance of providing mentally healthy working environments.
“Pexhurst’s donation will enable us at Mates in Mind to continue to support and enable employers to raise awareness and understanding of mental health, providing their workforce with skills and clarity to support themselves and those around them.”
Battersea Dogs and Cats Home
Michelle Matthews, Project Procurement and Delivery Administrator and Maria Demetriou, Management Systems Administrator, set themselves up in their living rooms in May, riding a virtual extended route from London to Brighton to help raise money for leading animal welfare charity Battersea!
Emily Hugo, Senior Fundraising Officer, comments: “Battersea is reliant on the generosity of the public to help us continue to be here for every dog and cat. The money raised from this virtual 55-mile bike ride will help provide essential care for the dogs and cats at Battersea until we find them loving new homes.
“We are incredibly grateful to Michelle and Maria for raising money for Battersea and everyone who generously supported them with their virtual London to Brighton bike ride. A big congratulations on completing the challenge from all the dogs, cats and humans at Battersea!”
Teenage Cancer Trust
Following on from the client golf day, the team hosted a supplier golf day and silent auction at Essendon Country Club in September raising an impressive £2,600 for Teenage Cancer Trust.
Pexhurst raised an additional £5,000 – enough to pay for 200 hours of nursing care for the charity during an auction by offering up their hospitality box at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Hailey Amani, Senior Relationship Manager of Teenage Cancer Trust said: “Pexhurst have been a fantastic supporter of Teenage Cancer Trust for years and we’re so grateful they’re helping us reach every young person that needs us, now more than ever. This is such a fantastic amount to raise. A huge thank you to Pexhurst.”
Pexhurst has proudly supported a number of other charities such as Isabel Hospice, Breast Cancer Now and the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity. We look forward to raising even more money for these wonderful charities in 2022!
