Pexhurst are celebrating 20 years of being a CIOB Chartered Building Company!
Nick Tagliarini, Marketing Director at Pexhurst, said: “We are delighted to achieve this milestone with CIOB, maintaining our chartered status as a building company. Being chartered offers new and existing customers greater reassurance that they are dealing with a reputable company that is here for the long term, and a business that works to the highest standards and offers the highest levels of service.”
“Being chartered also gives us a framework to work to with dedicated support, and helps us to retain our most important asset – our staff. It demonstrates that we invest in and develop our people to reach their full potential. If a member of staff’s personal goal is to become chartered, we will work closely with the CIOB and support them in achieving their objective. We strive to create a more professional workforce not only for Pexhurst, but the industry as a whole too.”
Caroline Gumble, CIOB’s CEO, said: “I am always delighted when a new company signs up to become a CBC – as Nick mentions, it benefits individuals, companies, and the industry as a whole. To have a company which has maintained their commitment to professionalism, the right levels of competency, ethical standards and leadership for 20 years is wonderful and a testament to their commitment to colleagues and to the wider drive within construction to raise standards and promote professionalism.”
The strapline that Chartered Building Companies are encouraged to use by the CIOB is ‘Professionalism and Integrity in Construction’. Pexhurst put these two qualities at the heart of everything we do which has allowed us to build meaningful relationships with our customers for more than 45 years. Much of Pexhurst’s business is from repeat custom which is built on offering a service with professionalism and integrity.
“There has been a great deal of change in the sector over the past 20 years, mainly increased environmental awareness, tighter regulation, and greater understanding with long term planning for buildings post construction. For an industry that was once seen as slow to adopt new technology, I have seen a greater uptake in recent years making the construction process much more efficient. We need to continue to innovate, especially via the use of technology to encourage young people into the sector especially now at a time when the industry faces greater skilled labour shortages. At Pexhurst, we will continue to invest in attracting new talent into our business and into the industry in partnership with the CIOB,” concludes Nick.
