Congratulations to Senior Buyer Michael Munroe for his long-term commitment to the company. To mark this impressive milestone, we caught up with Michael to find out more about his time with us…
1. What made you apply for your job with Pexhurst?
I wanted a new challenge, and Pexhurst seemed as though it would fit the bill!
2. Do you remember your first day?
Yes I do – it was the day before St. Patricks day and being Irish that date stands out. Everyone at the company was nice and friendly, there was a good atmosphere about the office, and to be honest, there still is.
3. What one piece of advice would you give yourself on that first day?
My one piece of advice would be to just keep asking questions and staying positive. You’ve got to believe in your own ability.
4. How has your job changed over the years?
It’s a lot busier as you would expect with the company having grown since I started in 2007. I manage the buying team, and every day is varied and never boring.
5. What’s your favourite part of your job?
The people – many of my colleagues have also been here for years and they are all a good bunch! Whilst getting things done, we are also able to have a laugh – which for me is a very important part of the whole set up.
6. What’s your favourite memory from the past 15 years?
There are so many… achieving MCIOB accreditation, witnessing the company evolve and the people within it doing the same. I have especially enjoyed the staff events we’ve had over the years, we have a great time together thanks to all the different characters that are here.
7. What are you looking forward to next?
On a personal level, time with my Wife and Children, workwise – more of the same, to the best of my ability.
