Congratulations to Management Systems Administrator Maria Demetriou for her long-term commitment to the company! To mark this impressive milestone, we caught up with Maria to find out more about her two decades with us…
1. What made you apply for your job with Pexhurst?
An opportunity came up through a friend, and not knowing anything about the construction industry, I thought why not take a chance and try something different!
2. Do you remember your first day?
I remember sitting in the boardroom with not just one director but all 5 of them, including John Vella, Pexhurst’s late Managing Director who founded the company.
3. What one piece of advice would you give yourself on that first day?
My one piece of advice would be to ensure you have researched the company and to ask smart questions.
4. What’s your favourite part of your job?
My job never gets boring, and there is always something new to learn!
5. What’s your favourite memory from the past 20 years?
I don’t really have a favourite, I guess I have 20 years of memories to choose from! We are going back some years now… maybe 2009, but I would say Go Karting with the whole Pexhurst team was a good one. I remember it was something I always wanted to try, and I still have a picture in my head of when Michael Munroe took his helmet off and he was covered in mud!
6. What are you looking forward to next?
As well as to continue achieving goals, I would like to progress and see where the next 20 years take me within the company!
