We are proud to announce that Trainee Site Manager, Jake Palmer, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Apprentice of the Year award at the National Building and Construction Awards.
The Apprentice of the Year award celebrates new and aspiring talent in the built environment, and in the process of shortlisting, judges were looking out for apprentices who had gone above and beyond to make the most out of their training and development opportunities.
Jake joined us in 2022 through the bespoke apprenticeship scheme and is currently working towards a Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor (Built Environment) Apprenticeship Programme. Jake originally joined the team as a labourer on site and was soon offered an interview with Pexhurst for the apprenticeship route, recognising his impressive work ethic and dedication to professional development.
Jake’s passion for construction is immediately apparent to all those who meet him, and this has been recognised and rewarded throughout his time at Pexhurst. Jake has already played a pivotal role in multiple successful projects, navigating unique challenges such as restricted site access and last-minute instruction of work. His confident communication style, proactive decision-making and active interest in learning have helped him exceed in the role already, winning two Pexhurst Site Proud Awards in the space of three months.

The pinnacle of the National Building and Construction Awards is the Grand Celebration, a black-tie evening held at The Hilton, Wembley on Thursday 16th November 2023 to announce and celebrate award winners. Good luck Jake!
