For two decades, we have been an avid supporter of Isabel Hospice, a charity which cares for patients and their families who are living with life-limiting illnesses. Located in eastern Hertfordshire, near to our office, the hospice’s particular focus is on ‘outstanding palliative care for all’. We are celebrating our 45th year in business in 2022, at the same time that Isabel Hospice are celebrating their 40th year in business. We made our first donation to the hospice in 2002, and twenty years later, we have donated a total of £25,380!
Isabel Hospice’s Chief Executive Officer Helen Glenister commented on the prosperous partnership with Pexhurst:

It costs more than £7 million each year to keep our services running for the people who rely on our specialist care, so the commitment and generosity of our long-standing supporters is absolutely vital to us in ensuring we can continue being there for local families now and in the future.
“As both our organisations celebrate milestone anniversaries in 2022, we would like to thank our friends at Pexhurst for raising such an incredible amount for the Hospice during our long association with them. We look forward to working closely with them for many more years to come.”
Support from local businesses has been vital in allowing the hospice to continue its crucial work. Pexhurst’s involvement began in 2002 when late founder John Vella (pictured above) and his wife Rosanna Vella, staged a number of popular fundraising efforts including Isabel Hospice Parties and Dance Nights in order to attract donations.
Throughout the following 20 years, Pexhurst have continued to raise funds and awareness through a range of activities, and it remains a charity close to our heart, as Managing Director Martin Vella explains:
“We are very proud to have supported the charity for 20 years and are looking forward to continuing our partnership with Isabel Hospice throughout 2022 and beyond.”
The wider Pexhurst team have also been involved in fundraising for Isabel Hospice. Earlier this year, we fundraised £655 for Isabel Hospice by participating in the London Winter Walk, which saw them walk 13 miles in one day! More recently we have held various bake sales for the charity including for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and have signed up to their Tonnes of Care initiative which involves donating our pre-loved and unwanted items for them to sell at their shops. This helps the charity in their strive to save 25,000 tonnes from landfill by 2027 – all whilst raising vital income to fund their life-changing care for patients, and their loved ones. It’s a great opportunity to give unwanted items a new lease of life, and more importantly contribute to helping local families get the specialist nursing care they vitally need.
The bond between Pexhurst and Isabel Hospice remains strong, and we look forward to continuing this rewarding collaboration for years to come.
