Highly reputed fit-out and refurbishment contractor Pexhurst were appointed by Cushman and Wakefield to strip out this former 1980's six-cinema multiplex and return the unit back to base build, ready for the incoming tenant variety goods retailer B&M.
Sovereign Harbour is northern Europe’s largest composite marina complex and boasts four linked harbours and the hugely popular Waterfront retail and restaurant development.
Works to the unit comprised of the infill of the cinema pits all whilst working concurrently with roofing repairs and replacement of roof lights. The team also formed new openings for new entrances as well as rear garden entrances with automated sliding doors in B&M corporate colours.
Moreover, Pexhurst formed a B&M back of house area which included just-in-time storage facilities, a welfare area for staff, a staff room and toilets including a DDA compliant toilet.
As part of these works, Pexhurst constructed a 60 minute partition segregating the retail area from the service areas, incorporating fire stopping and intermittent spraying of existing portal frames.
Lots of dedication and commitment from the team resulted in this project being completed on time and to budget. Ensuring B&M are now a key occupier in Sovereign Harbour Retail Park.
