Holloway Road - Greystar

A fast track full refurbishment of 87 student accommodation rooms

Working on behalf of Greystar the project brief was to refurbish and return to use 87 rooms including student cluster kitchens, common parts areas and student accommodation.

This project also included 11 cluster corridors, 15 Kitchens and replacement of hobs in various areas with, works taking place over different floors and blocks of the site.

Working in a “live” occupied building, close liaison with the Chapter Centre Manger was imperative, to manage expectation and program works accordingly.

A logistically challenging project the 7-week duration saw us disassemble and remove from site the entire furniture package from every room.

This took place over the first three days of the project and allowed us then to have complete access to every room which was being refurbished.

This was particularly important as we were uplifting and replacing floor finishes in many of the rooms and common parts. There was simply not enough time or site space to move items around during the construction phase.

Dealing with the many different configurations of rooms was challenging for our site team and required hourly liaising with the on-site team to ensure rooms were vacated and works could take place.
