Following a competitive tender process, Pexhurst won the contract to deliver the complete refurbishment of this traditional brickbuilt, asbestos-roofed post-war warehouse as a design and build project.
In this project, our team refurbished the entire building. Only the ground slab, steel frame and brick walls remained, but were overclad. We designed and constructed a new canopy over the loading bay, using a structural engineer to validate the design.
In addition to the roof replacement, some notifiable asbestos was removed internally. Given these activities, sequencing was complex on this project, as was the requirement to choose subcontractors with the right skills for each task.
This level of attention to detail, coupled with our team’s expert knowledge and workmanship, enabled us to deliver an excellent result for this client.
