Pexhurst was appointed to carry out the industrial refurbishment and upgrade of the warehouse and associated offices located in River Gardens, Feltham.
Sustainability was a key requirement for the client and the project saw the installation of EV charging points, external green walls featuring ivy planters located in front of the existing brick wall to the car park area, as well as eco-friendly bike racks with roof planters and bird boxes. Gas supplies to the property were also capped off in an effort to reduce fossil fuel usage and ensure electric power as the main source of energy.
Efficient procurement and work sequencing was paramount given the tight nine-week turnaround time. This also allowed the project team to overcome unforeseen complications such as the upgrade of the gutter lining system once it was realised the original was in disrepair.
The lift was due to be refurbished but was deemed non compliant mid-way through works. Fortunately the project team were able to source an exact match, removing and reinstalling the lift within a three week period.
The building achieved an EPC rating of A, ensuring a building that is fit for the future.
