Congratulations to Site Manager Paul Rowland for his long-term commitment to the company! To mark this impressive milestone, we caught up with Paul to find out more about his two decades with us…
1. What made you apply for your job with Pexhurst?
Before applying for the job, I was actually already working for Pexhurst but as a sub-contractor (carpentry and joinery), so I was aware of their method of works and had met most of the workforce in the company who all seemed really approachable. I liked the way they were moving forward and providing good job security.
2. Do you remember your first day?
I didn’t really have a first day as such, one day I was self-employed working on Pexhurst jobs, and the next day I was working as a full time employee at Pexhurst!
3. What one piece of advice would you give yourself on that first day?
My one piece of advice is to be confident and always do your best.
4. What’s your favourite part of your job?
My favourite part of the job is working as team to get the job over the line, and the variety of different sectors we operate in and projects we undertake.
5. What’s your favourite memory from the past 20 years?
My favourite memory has to be fitting out the Brixton Estate (now SEGRO) office in Mayfair. This is because of the amount of detail required, plus we were working alongside Brixton Estate’s team which was quite a challenge in itself as they were based on site. We actually had a celebration party when the screed was poured to suit all the different floor levels.
6. What are you looking forward to next?
I’m looking forward to the next challenge and finishing my current project on the South Coast!
